Lime pointing & Slate Hearths
On this one we hacked off all the cement based plaster, took out a 1970's electric fire, restored the stone fireplace, sand blasted the gable end internal wall to restore the stones back to original condition and then plaster all the other stone walls with natural hemp lime plaster. We found a nice slab of slate in the garden and polished it up and then cut and scribed it to fit the opening and become the hearth of the home. It was a privilege to be able to work on this with traditional materials and we think its some of our best work and was a pleasure to do!
